Welcome to Nourishing Minds Psychiatry – the integrative telehealth practice of Dr Ana Musarevski
Hi, I’m Dr Ana Musarevski
I am a psychiatrist who is passionate about helping people who are struggling with mental health conditions such as anxiety, adult ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD and PTSD to live more peaceful and happier lives by using a combination of traditional psychiatric treatments alongside holistic strategies such as functional testing, nutritional supplementation, herbal and plant-based medicine, psychological methods, and optimising healthy lifestyle habits.
I believe in the practice of integrating evidence-based Western medicine and complementary approaches to holistically assess and treat mental health conditions so that people can live more fulfilling lives.
Based in Sydney, Australia, I am a psychiatrist who graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine, and I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
My clinical experience spans both public and private hospitals and private practice. I have a special interest in understanding the interconnectedness of the mind, brain, and body, and exploring how metabolic health and nutritional interventions can play a role in mental health treatment.
Furthermore, I am captivated by the emerging field where scientific enquiry intersects with spirituality, appreciating how this may profoundly influence and enhance our understanding and approach to holistic mental health care.
Coming from a first-generation Australian family with Macedonian heritage, I also recognise the importance of community and cultural integration in psychiatry. I am aware of how cultural factors can influence mental health perceptions and am committed to respectfully addressing these aspects in my practice to support a more informed and empowered recovery journey for people facing mental health challenges.
I offer an integrative and empathetic approach to the assessment and treatment of adults aged 18 to 60 years with mental health conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, and PTSD. This is done using a virtual telehealth platform, where consultations are conducted via videoconference.
My telepsychiatry treatment modalities combine conventional psychiatric treatments, including clinically indicated prescription medications, with complementary medicine approaches.
These approaches include functional testing, nutritional supplementation, herbal and plant-based medicine, psychological strategies derived from cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, and meditation, as well as enhancing healthy lifestyle habits such as sleep, diet, and exercise.
