Welcome to Nourishing Minds Psychiatry – the integrative telehealth practice of Dr Ana Musarevski
Hi, I’m Dr Ana Musarevski
I am a psychiatrist passionate about helping individuals with mental health challenges such as anxiety, adult ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, and PTSD achieve more peaceful and fulfilling lives by blending traditional psychiatric treatments with holistic strategies, including functional testing, nutritional supplementation, nutraceuticals, herbal and plant-based medicine, psychological techniques, and the optimisation of healthy lifestyle habits.
About me
I believe in integrating Western medicine with Eastern wisdom to holistically assess and treat mental health conditions, enabling people to live more fulfilling lives.
Based in Sydney, Australia, I am a psychiatrist who graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine, and I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).
My clinical experience spans public and private hospitals and private practice. I have a special interest in understanding the interconnectedness of the mind, brain, and body and in the ongoing exploration of how genetics and environment play a role in mental health treatment to optimise mental health outcomes.
Furthermore, I am captivated by the emerging field where science intersects with spirituality, appreciating how this may profoundly influence and enhance our understanding and approach to holistic mental health care.
Coming from a first-generation Australian family with Macedonian heritage, I also recognise the importance of community and cultural integration in psychiatry. I am aware of how cultural factors can influence mental health perceptions and am committed to respectfully addressing these aspects in my practice to support a more informed and empowered recovery journey for people facing mental health challenges.
Treatment Modalities
I offer an integrative and empathetic approach to the assessment and treatment of adults aged 18 to 60 years with mental health conditions such as anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, and PTSD. This is done using a virtual telehealth platform, where consultations are conducted via videoconference.
My telepsychiatry interventions combine conventional psychiatric treatment approaches with complementary medicine strategies. If clinically indicated, these approaches may encompass medication management and functional assessments based on your symptoms and goals. This includes comprehensive nutritional testing, genetic testing, advanced stress hormone evaluation, gut microbiome analysis, and recommendations for nutritional supplementation, nutraceuticals, and herbal and plant-based remedies.
Additionally, they may include psychological strategies derived from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which involves Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eastern philosophy-based psychology. These interventions also incorporate mind-body practices and holistic lifestyle guidance covering important factors like sleep, nutrition, and exercise.
